There are two categories of Membership in the IIISSM. These are:

• Associate Membership
• Affiliate Membership

Both Associate Membership and Affiliate Membership could be for individuals and for companies separately.

• entitles members to concessional rates for registration in various IISSM programmes.

• adds to the professional credentials, enriches one's curriculum vitae and helps in the possible growth and development of service career of young security professionals.

Associate / Affiliate Membership

An individual professional engaged in the main profession of security, safety, loss prevention and allied services for a minimum period of 10 years out of which continuous 5 years in charge position may be approved for the grant of Associate Membership by the Board of Governors of the institute after paying prescribed fee.


Eligibility Criteria:

The Associate/Affiliate Membership is open to:

1. All such individuals, firms, companies, institutions, public and private sector, government and semi government undertakings, industries, banks, insurance companies executives and managers working in security guarding companies, security and fire alarm manufacture, distributor, dealer and installer and all other establishments using security services or connected with the business of security, fire prevention or allied activities in any manner.

2. Serving, and retired defence, para-military and police personnel.

3. All such individuals in executive, managerial, supervisory, or responsible charge position in organisations engaged in supplying security products or services, full-time educators who are providing instruction in security courses or administering a security education programme at an accredited educational institution or teaching facility, or responsible charge position of legally constituted national, state, provincial, central or municipal law enforcement, investigative, prospective or correctional agencies.

4. All such individuals working in various firms, companies and service who are frequently using services of security and safety or connected with manufacturing, distributing, safety, fire prevention and allied product may also be eligible for affiliate membership.

5. All persons holding executive and managerial position in the companies and organisations engaged in the profession of security, safety and allied agencies, consultancy service, or manufacturer, supplier or dealer company of security and safety equipment, will be eligible for the affiliate membership, subject to approval of their applications by a membership committee duly constituted by the Board of Governors.

1. Minimum qualification for both category is a graduate from a recognised university. For Associate Member minimum supervisory work experience of 5 years and for Affiliate work experience of 2 years is essential.

2. The Board of Governors may consider retired defence/Para Military Forces officer who have joined the profession of security after retirement, grant of Associate Membership after relaxing the qualifying number of years in the profession.

3. Associate Members may be considered for upgradation as Fellow Member on completion of their Associate Membership for a period of 5 years, which will qualify them to become voting members of the institute.

4. Individuals who have been granted Associate Membership may affix "AISM" after their name as professional qualification.

5. Companies using or providing security and safety services may also become Associate/Affiliate corporate member of IISSM after paying prescribed fee. Corporate member companies are entitled to nominate 2 (two) members to represent the company.

Application Fees:

Application fee must be sent along with this application in the shape of demand draft payable to "International Institute of Security and Safety Management" payable on a bank at New Delhi (India).

Application processing fees are paid only once at the time of acceptance for membership. Annual Membership dues include a subscription to the Institute's PUBLICATIONS and personalised Email address on "iissm" and across of IISSM library on nominal extra payment. Amount of application processing fees and annual dues for the various classification of membership are as under:

Note: The membership period is according to the calendar year. Application from India, Nepal and Bhutan may pay their application fee and annual dues in Indian currency.
